Many of our customers tell us that they have a double chin, and rely on facial fillers to make them look younger – especially the dermal filler for cheeks. In fact, cheek augmentation is one of the most popular procedures performed by expert surgeons. However, let’s take a closer look at what dermal filler for cheeks is all about.

For many people who hate the squinty look of their eyes, we can perform a procedure called periorbital rhinoplasty (PR) to give people bigger and more expressive eyes. This is not as dramatic as augmentation like cheek implants but it can produce similar results.
We use both fat and injectable dermal fillers in our practice. Due to the high amount of blood vessels in the cheeks, a liquid filler can be very messy while a pencil called paste produces an unnatural look. Whenever possible we will place fat tissue back into your face to give your cheek implants a softer look, but this is not always possible. Both fat and injectable dermal fillers can be easily removed in our office under local anesthesia (no cutting). We will need to do multiple small procedures in order for you to see the improvements that we’ve made.
You will recover quickly, but your face will look red and swollen for several days. You’ll also feel some discomfort or pain at the injection session under local anesthesia. Your surgeon may recommend some over-the-counter antihistamine medications to help with the itching. Your bruising will subside over two to three weeks, but you may have some underlying discoloration for another month or so after your procedure. Our office typically places dermal fillers into superficial layers of fat under local anesthesia only at this time to prevent large implant migration. This strategically placed filler results in small and subtle changes, similar to the effects of stem cell-based fat transfer.
Cheek fillers are a type of injectable filler used to plump up the cheeks. The procedure is usually done in an office setting and takes about 15 minutes to complete.
